    Stopped in at the local HD boutique on the weekend, looked at some
    duds. Noticed a shirt with "harley davidson" embroidered on the
    pocket.
    
    Then I noticed the label under the collar:

                    Harley Settles 10M$ Suit From Crash

    MILWAUKEE -- Harley Davidson Inc. settled a product liability
    lawsuit by a man who lost a leg in a motorcycle crash, resolving
    a case that was likely to cost the company at least 10M$.
    
    	Last month, a New Jersey state jury ordered the Milwaukee
    based cycle maker to pay Thomas Molinaro 9.9M$ for the 1991
    crash. The judge was weighing wether the jury should also consider
    punitive damages.
    
    	The term of the settlement won't be disclosed, the company said.
    
    	Mr Molinaro, 36, was awarded damages after a five week trial and
    a day and a half deliberations in Superior Court in Thoms River, New
    Jersey. The jury found that the motorcycle's cruise control jammed,
    preventing Mr. Molinaro from slowing down during a highway turn and
    cusing him to lose control of the bike. Mr. Molinaro was thrown more
    than 27 meters after the motorcycle smashed into a tree.

    	Thanks for the warning Pat.  I haven't had a problem yet and I'm
    going into my fourth season with this bike.  One last season and it
    gets traded in next year anyway.  Anyhow the way my knee has felt
    lately I might just part with it for 10mil.

    I was Traveling at approx.70 mph in the mid lane 93N around Willmington
    MA. and a MC passed me, down shifted and flew across the lanes to exit. 
    He was riding a  Honda of or a Yamaha (HD sfttail type) and had a Popup 
    camper attached. The camper was swaying back and forth I assume it was due
    to the speed he was traveling. It would have been pretty nasty if he had 
    to lockup his brakes and jackknife (nice looking Black/Chrome Bike).
    
    Then I passed a Saab towing a boat that had a Honda outbrd motor
    attached. This motor was down and the tail end of the prop was lower
    than the trailer itself. I wonder if the boat trailer  drove
    over road a road-kill bump or into a snowplow type pothole if the boat would
    launch or just the boat motor and assoc. boat stern.

    See, that s why I don't like these HD look alike bikes. Those kind
    of people give Harley riders a bad name!
