Hi,

A customer just upgraded SLS from V2.7 to V2.8A. The backup to TL810 device
doesn't work while backup operations to other tape device had no problems.
Trying a STORAGE EXPORT CARTRIDGE gets this message:

-SLS-F-MRD_LOAD_FAIL, media robot driver load failure                 

Customer has rolled SLS back to V2.7 (for tonight's backup) and the first backup
was just done.

Is there a problem with V2.8A or some adjustment is needed in this version for
using the TL810 tape drive?

Please double-check your source of information.  The MRD_LOAD_FAIL status 
can only be returned from a $STORAGE LOAD or possibly from a $STORAGE 
INVENTORY command.  For a TL810 with vision system (the bar-code label reader) 
in working order, the INVENTORY command also would not return MRD_LOAD_FAIL.

Customer checked again. He had given me the wrong error message. It should be:

$ storage export cartridge afv351
%SLS-E-BADEXPJUKE, cannot EXPORT from tape jukebox with no outport

Customer said he had the same problem when he upgraded from V2.7 to V2.8 four
months ago (he had to roll back to V2.7) and he expected the problem to be fixed
in V2.8A... so do you think this is still a problem to be addressed in the
future version or something had done wrong after the upgrade.

Now it sounds like the TL810 may be running a old firware version, DEC1.10.
If so have FS upgrade it to V1.13 or better.  I think the latest is DEC1.20.
