2181.0. "How to merge two SLS databases ?" by ARPEGE::SERVE () Mon Jan 27 1997 03:13

I have a customer who wants to merge a 2.4A SLS database into another SLS
database running version 2.5.

Is it possible ? and how to do it ?

Thanks for a help,

Yes it is possible, however, your looking a merging to versions of SLS that
do not share the exact same database layout. Therefor you must first upgrade
your V2.4A to V2.5 or higher. Next make sure the two database do not have
ANY volumes with the same name. The volume name is the primary key in the
database and it does not allow duplicates. For any duplicate volume names
remove the one from the database that you do not whish to keep. Finally you
can use CONVERT to merge the two together.
