    We recently discovered here in Belgium/Luxembourg a problem installing
    an Adaptec 2940narrow in a Celebris/Venturis GL 6180/6200.
    
    The error was at boot after the post 010 message. You get a red screen
    with following message : Error 5 - post error - wait for 30 ". After
    30" your system works fine, except that you can't see any device on
    your scsi controller.
    
    Bios version Adaptec : 1.16 (rather old, but still sold by PCBU as you can
    see).
    Bios version Celebris/Venturis : 1.00 
    
    Two possible solutions :
    
    Upgrade bios Adaptec. Not flashable, so eprom programmer. PCBU Valbonne
    did give this solution, but it is not allowed by Adaptec. Reason is
    that you get certain possibilities in the Adaptec setup, that won't
    work.
    
    Upgrade your PC bios to version 1.03. This is customer installable.

    Sorry to have mislead you, but upgrading the system bios won't solve
    the problem !! I've tried it on one system at the office, and it did
    work. The customer had already bios 1.03 (and not an older version as
    first stated.
    Only solution is buying a new adaptec with more recent bios.
