3006.0. "SUPERMATCH PROOFPOSITIVE PRINTER WIN-95 DRIVERS ?" by STAR::BRASSARD (Bob B. 381-1462 OVMS CIPCA DVT) Mon May 05 1997 16:23
Greetings All,
I picked up a Supermatch Proofpositive (single-page) dye-sublimation
printer at a very reasonable price used (compared to $6000 list new).
This prints better-than-photo quality, glossy 8.5" x 11" (or up to 14")
prints, and was designed for magazine photocopy proofing: color match,
etc. The printer was designed and software-drivers developed only
for Apple MacIntosh computers; and even uses a SCSI interface box
(although back of printer appears to be regular Centronix connector).
The manufacture, Supermatch Technology, was bought out by Radius,
who only supports media now.
I am trying to use this on an IBM-compatable, and prefer to avoid
learning/buying a MAC.
Questions: Does anyone know of a generic dye-sublimation printer
driver thay might work on Windows-95 ? Could anyone suggest a
starting point for trying to emulate a more popular printer:
i.e., set W95 to another printer type ?
Thanks for any hints. My internet searches for IBM/Windows-95 drivers
for this model (via Alta Vista) have been futile, only finding
media/supplies through Radius (the supporting vendor).
Regards,
Bob Brassard
