    I don't know what I did but I must have done something!
    
    With the goal in mind of swaping my C: drive for a larger ide drive...
    
    I got a complete backup of my current C: drive. Shutdown the OS.
    Powered off the box. Unpugged all the cables. Took off the cover.
    Looked around for a while to figure out the current cabling, etc...
    
    Daughter enters room, she needs the computer to do some homework.
    (that's due in the morning of course). 
    
    I replace cover, reconnect cord, power up....
    The first problem is that the memory test runs 4 times. Then I get a 
    floppy drive error (40). I checkout the floppy drive and try again.
    Still no luck. I go into CMOS and disable the floppy drive and reboot. 
    This time "no operating system". I go into CMOS and the parameters of
    the current C: drive are wrong. I change them, reenabled the floppy
    drive and rebooted. 
    
    Now the memory test still runs 4 times. After the last memory test the
    system just sits there. I checked the CMOS values for the C: drive and
    the number of cylinders has changed. 
    
    Help Me please!

	How do you know the C: drive parameters are wrong - did yu have a note of them before? Sounds like the CMOS somehow managed to get reset. If you reset the C: drive parameters back to their original settings then you should have been able to read the contents of the drive. Did you manually set the drive data or did you select autoconfig? If you use autoconfig and it didn't work then maybe the original parameters were not set using autoconfig. Have you tried disabling the memory tests in the CMOS and see if that gets you past the memory error? You could also try booting DOS from a floppy and see if you can access the contents of the C: drive - then at least you would know you had the drive parameters set correct. Stuart
