    We do NOT repost notes to gain attention in this and in most other
    conferences. Please cease this practice. We saw your note the
    first time.

    Thanks,

    replies of course..

    Thanks for the pointer in .2

    Sure you were...   ;-)

    Just for the record, you can change the titles of your own notes by
    using the
                      set note/title="whatever you like"
    command, assuming you are reading your own note at the time.

    Cheers,

2977.5not there-different brand name used possibly?SIOG::CORCORANFri Apr 18 1997 10:584
    No sign of that pc there ,I'm afraid.

    I wonder if the DecPC466d2 DT was marketed under any other name e.g
    the same motherboard used on another PC...?

    I've never heard of a "DT" product -- what does it stand for?
    Desktop?

2977.7its in the logo,namely DecPC466d2 DTSIOG::CORCORANSun Apr 20 1997 19:381
    I don't know -but the logo of the pc has it -DecPC466d2 DT
2977.8BHAJEE::JAERVINENOra, the Old Rural AmateurMon Apr 21 1997 07:244
    Never heard of one either... I have a couple of DecPC466d2 LP's here
    though. Is this just a different case (a tower perhaps)?

2977.9its a desktop-also called a PC 69C-A3DUB01::CORCORANTue Apr 22 1997 10:225
    It has the standard "flat" desktop case.
    The model no. on the silver sticker at the back
    says its a PC 69C-A3.

2977.10Here's a pointerWOTVAX::HILTONSave Water, drink beerTue Apr 22 1997 10:347
    It was an Olivetti rebadge I think, there are pointers to the user
    disks in the europc notes conference sutra::europc.

    In fact, check SUTRA::PCI$USER_DISKS:DECPC4XXDT_USR1.DSK;1

2977.11Thanks-I had done a search using "466"SIOG::CORCORANWed Apr 23 1997 09:383
    Thanks for the pointer-when I searched SUTRA before, I did a find on
    "466".
    It just goes to show..
2977.12The .DSK file-a few answers,please....SIOG::CORCORANFri Apr 25 1997 09:228
    When I copy across DECPC4XXDT_USR1.DSK to our Vax, using FTSV,the
    size of the file is 1474560 ie to big to fit on one floppy.

    ( I'm in a remote office with just a Decserver200/leased line/mux
    connection,I used ZMODEM under WinVT to transfer the file to our local
    PC ,using the PC as a terminal )

    Is the .DSK file executable,compressed or ..?
2977.13.DSK file copy needs Pathworks...SIOG::CORCORANFri Apr 25 1997 10:042
   Re. my last note...I've just found in the Europc conference that the .DSK
    file requires Pathworks...oh well.
2977.14Think someone fixed this!CHEFS::16.195.80.67::hiltonghiltong@mail.dec.comMon Apr 28 1997 08:056
Pretty sure some wrote an executable that reads .dsk files.

Dig around the old PATHWORKS notes conferences,or use
altavista.pa.dec.com or the COMET search tool.

2977.18QUARK::LIONELFree advice is worth every centMon Apr 28 1997 12:135
The PCDISK utility that is part of PATHWORKS reads .DSK files. There are lots
of references to some other utility in various notesfiles, but my attempts to
locate it came up empty - all published locations no longer exist.

2977.19file mentioned in .17 seems to be there..SIOG::CORCORANMon Apr 28 1997 13:421

2977.20.17 utility works,thanksSIOG::CORCORANFri May 09 1997 14:098
    FYI
    	The procedure of using the DiskRW utility (mentioned in .17) on the
    .DSK file seems to have worked, I now have a bootable DecPC466d2 DT user
    disk....Thanks again.

    BTW I used FTSV and ZMODEM,aok
