| Bill,
I completed my homework last night. The EIDE chipset appears to be
a UMC 8673. There were no EIDE drivers that came with the motherboard.

| Mark,
The motherboard is supposed to be plug and pray. It says that it has
AMI BIOS plug and play extension 1.0A when the thing powers up. Last
night while doing the homework Bill gave me, I ran into a intersting
problem, that I solved with some trouble. Band aid tm may be a better
word for it than solve.
My son is 3 and has a program called preschool jump start. It wouldnt
work after I attempted to re-install the game. The Chief has a
tendancy to inadvertenly adjust parameters you know... so
re-installations of his games are rather common. I realized that it
hadnt worked since the time I last tried to install the sound card
software. I removed all the sound card software and finaly had to
remove the MIDI MAPPER to get all the stuff working again. I later
remembered that I had to do this before. The error the game gave me
was something about MIDI, so I ended up there.
Anyone have a non Plug and pray sound card for sale? I am still
wondering if there is something else wrong.
