2811.10Its interesting, I have the same problem too.DECC::KAOFri Apr 18 1997 21:1718
How is your new COAST or MB goes?

System: Comtrad pentium 166
	Conner TapeStor 4000 (SCSI version)
	Adaptec 2940UW

I always have the "verify errors" from the Window95 backup (Software came
with the tape drive from Seagate.) The only workaround for me is to disable
the L2 cache whenever I have to run the system backup.

My guess is the problem lies between the mother board and the tape drive(r).
The SCSI card is fine because this problem happened on my original EIDE
version of TapeStor 4000 too.

I emailed the problem to the technical support of seagate, and never
heard back from them.

As an update to this,

I replaced both the motherboard and the COAST, and the problem went away.
I'm assuming that it was the up-rev COAST that did it, but since I replaced
both at the same time, I can't really say for sure which it was.

FWIW, the L2 cache is the COAST, so maybe it's your problem...
