    Hi Kham,

You should go to stores that specialize in old tapes, record albums,
to find classic folk material. Try any pawn shop if you don't mind
spending time going through all the different types of music.
Flea markets often have old clasical folk tapes mixed with other types.

    Kham,
As I read your note, you are interested in traditional songs,
rather than vintage recordings. If this is the case, there are
many recordings (tapes and CDs) by historical and contemporary
folk musicians available. The Vanguard Recording Society comes
to mind, as does Camsco Music (http://www.camsco.com) which
specializes in independent recordings of traditional music.

I saw that the "field recordings" of Alan Lomax (sp?) are now available
in a number of sets according to the type of music. These are on my
list as a source of authentic classic folk music.
