Hi

A customer is using MMS 3.1-03 on OVMS-ALPHA 7.1 and gets several times

 STR-F-FATINTERR on Fortran compilations commands.

  Has anyone experienced that ?

		Thanks

Hi,

I've not seen this error before.

1. What happens if you attempt to compile the files without MMS?

2. Please add the /LOG and /LIST qualifiers to the MMS command and post the
   output here.

Thanks,

-Paul

Hi Paul

>I've not seen this error before.
The customer says he worked with his MMS procedures for several months on
OVMS-ALPHA 7.0 and it worked fine.

Maybe this is VMS 7.1 + MMS 3.1 issue.

 >1. What happens if you attempt to compile the files without MMS?
  There is no problem.

> 2. Please add the /LOG and /LIST qualifiers to the MMS ...

The customer just called saying that when he added "/log" or "/log/list" the
problem vanished. So he adopted that as a temporary workaround.

As to the output of the "/list" he says he sees nothing just the echoing of
the original command, so I do not attach i here.
For security reasons I can't log into his system and our communication is by
hard copy faxes.

I very much doubt it - MMS 3.1 has been fully regression checked in V7.1.
My vote currently goes to a user/machine error.

temporary workaround? There is nothing more we can do unless they're willing
to provide more information.

It's the original commands and their output that we need to see. Could you
fax them to us?

1382.4Another with this problemCSC32::EHAFlipThu May 08 1997 14:5710
    Hello Paul,

I have a customer with the same setup and displaying the same problems.
He gets two types of failure messages, STR-F-FATINTERR and
MMS-F-GWKNOPRN, when the /LOG qualifier is not on the MMS command line.
I think I can get some description files and possibly source files that
    show the problem.

Let me know what you need.

1382.5MMS/LIST and MMS/LIST/LOGEDSDS6::TOWNSENDPaul - DECset EngineeringThu May 08 1997 15:179
Hi Al,

The output from MMS/LIST would be of interest, along with the output from
MMS/LOG/LIST.

Failing that, the description would be useful. This note is first time
I've come across the STR-F-FATINTERR error.
