3228.0. "regio error" by UTROP1::62964::BOEKHOLT (Don't speak Double Dutch) Thu Jan 30 1997 10:49

Hi,

I just copied a kit from jamin::pw32: and installed it on a alpha running
NT4.0 sp1 .

The installation seemed to work, although I had to click away a lot of
error message windows

Similarly, when trying to add accounts in the eXcurstion control panel,
this error message pops up, and in fact I'm not able to add anything at all
.

-REGIO ERROR (DEBUG) -
Error return iStatusReturn(=1021) line 1592

about box says T3.0.511(Alpha) (DEBUG)

Any idea's?

What group(s) is your NT account in?

If you had to click away a lot of error message windows, the
installation didn't work. What were the error messages?

My guess is that the account from which you installed didn't have privileges
to write into the NT registry.

I was logged in using the Administrator account (which is in the
administrators group...) when I did the installation and tried to run
eXcursion. I did not create other accounts yet.

The error messages where similar when installing, but different lines and
routines, I did not write them down.

I logged out and in again and sheer magic happened:
I have not experienced any problems with eXcursion so far. As a matter of
fact, I'm using it now. The first time installation apperently did work...

So something must have made NT a bit confused.

FYI, I installed fx!32 and SQL server and a product called Versatility
before installing eXcursion...

Thanks anyway,
