Microsoft has done nothing to fix the problem, Digital has.

See: http://nuages.sbu.vbe.dec.com/ and look for Marc Bassinne's drivers
    for Windows NT version 4.

Some LK450 problems (and perhaps those of LK405 similar) have been fixed
with NT4.0 Service Pack 2. In particular, the Keypad Minus now works.

Cool. I've been avoiding sp2 since I've heard stories of problems.
My system ain't broke, so I'm not in any hurry to fix it. ;-)

    Hi,

My customer found a bug in the LK450 drivers I provided him. Here's
    what he had to say:

I realize that the LK450 driver is not supported but here is a bug you
might pass on. In Word 95 and 97 (but not Excel, Powerpoint, Access or
anything else we can find), when an accelerator key is an F? key (e.g.
F5) and the NT40 LK450 driver is used, Word becomes confused. It will
display nothing or a funny symbol or many question marks in a menu item
that uses that key. An easy example (Word 95 only) is to look at the
Tools menu. The accelerator for Spelling should be F7, Thesaurus should
be Shift-F7. When the LK450 driver is installed, the keys work fine but
don't display correctly. When you try to customize the keyboard you get
the same problem. In Word 97 look at Help/What's This (surprisingly, F1
works fine). I assume that this driver is from the new eXcursion that
is going to be in Pathworks 32 so it might be nice if this could be
    fixed before it is released.

Whoa! If the problem is showing up in Word 95/97, then it has
got nothing to do with eXcursion or PATHWORKS 32. PATHWORKS 32 includes
no driver support for LK450, it so happens that PowerTerm and eXcursion
can make use of them, but the drivers themselves are unsupported and are
provided as a "labor of love" by Marc Bassinne.

There are a few problems with interactions between eXcursion and
Marc's drivers, but those are only going to show up when using eXcursion,
NOT when using Windows 95 applications such as Word.

Bugs in the drivers should be forwarded to Marc.Bassinne@vbe.mts.dec.com
