3536.0. "ClearVisn DECNIS configurator" by HGOVC::SHUMCF () Mon Feb 10 1997 07:10

    Hi,

    I have some question related to DECNIS v.4.0 configurator. It seems we
    only have the Windows version at the moment. Then, when will we have
    the Digital Unix version released ?

    Another question is on I-ISIS. When we configured the DECNIS router
    running with I-ISIS using the ClearVisn DECNIS configurator. We found
    from the script file that DECnet routing is turned on. Does it
    mandatory for I-ISIS ? If it doesn't, how can we avoid it turning on
    when configured with I-ISIS?

    Thanks,

Currently there are no plans to port the clearVISN DECNIS Windows Configurator
to any other platform. The character cell based configurator is still the
supported configuration tool on Digital UNIX and VMS.
It is planned that future versions of the Windows configurator will support
using UNIX and VMS systems as load hosts.

You definately need to run DECnet to use the Integratated IS-IS control
protocol. The control protocol works by including IP information in the OSI
link state packets.
