3521.0. "OSPF Table Size " by CSC32::CULP () Fri Jan 24 1997 15:18

    Hi all,

I have a customer with a Meshed Frame relay network. Customer has
8 remote sites routing OSPF (DECbrouter 90) thru to a NIS 600.
The NIS is reporting a "table overflow problem".

    1) Is there anything documented that would describe OSPF parameters
discussed in Appendix B B-42 of the DECnis Manual ?

    2) What parameter do I need to tweek ?

    3) Here is a dump of the OSPF table parameter entrys:

NCL> SET NCL DEF ENT NODE DECNIS3
NCL> SHOW ROUTING CONTRO PROTO OSPF-GENERAL ALL

The NCL status you've included shows OSPF to be running fine. If OSPF was
overflowing one of its tables then it would have disabled itself.

Do you have the full text for the "table overflow" message ?

The other possibility is that the main routing table has overflowed, post the
output from the SHOW ROUTING ALL command it may help.

re:.1 OSPF does disable itself (the displays sent were after
    re-starting the router).

Customer is sending the configuration info for review... The routers
are redistributing RIP into OSPF and probably the other way around as
well so we may be overflowing due to routing loops..

Will post an update after reviewing configs next week...

    Please stay tuned :)
