The following is the .LIS file from a Digital UNIX compile. 3.1 installed
and x3.1.9 patch applied. The problem is that we are getting 3 WARNINGS
that seam to indicate a bridge port is being modified after it is enabled.

I am unsure what to do to correct these WARNINGS, the bridge port is created
in the configurator and no futher actions are taken in the extra files
to affect the port. Is this perhaps a problem with the data file for
the configurator, we went from 2.3.14 to 3.1.9

Previously on Digital Unix (and on Ultrix when that was supported)
there was no attempt to check scripts for semantics or best
practice.

So in your version move you picked up the extra checking we now
try to do and the checker believes that in general it is better
to do sets before enables. For now you should just ignore the
warnings.

If it is, for some reason, essential for these sets to be done
after the enables, then I'll change the checker to ERROR them
if they are done too early. Otherwise the warnings will stay
(and in time the configurator might get changed). I will have
to talk to the experts.

I would say that it is the checker that is incorrect here.

For internal reasons any transaction to do with bridge filtering MUST be done
after the enables otherwise the configuration script will lock up.

Probably no-one else has reported this yet because the configurator only puts
those sets in for BLOCK by default set ups, many people use PASS by default and
that doesn't need any NCL as the entities default that way.

Looking at the code, a fix to suppress these warnings (but not to
enforce the correct rules) has already been done.

In .0 you say that you applied X3.1-9 as a fix kit but there is no
such thing. X3.1-9 is just an image and you should apply the V3.1-8
fix kit first to get all the configurator fixes. Please can you
do this and tell me whether the problem goes away (or not).
