3309.4Failure Detection Timer?GADWAL::W_MCGAWThu Mar 20 1997 14:4719
    Hi,

    I have a customer currently running V3.0 with an L601 card. He is
    seeing this same loopback message being sent *using a sniffer) and
    wants to know if he can use this to speed up the detection of a circuit
    going down. Right now, he says it takes ~40 seconds to determine the
    circuit is down and he wants this to be able to detect a disconnect
    quicker (around 5-6 seconds) instead if possible.

    From reading through these notes, it sounds like this may be possible
    now with a parameter introduced around the V3.1-7 release. Is this
    correct, and if so, how does the customer implemet it? Is it outlined
    in the release notes for the newer releases?

    Thank you,

3309.5Upgrade and read the release notesMARVIN::HIGGINSONPeter Higginson DTN 830 6293, Reading UKThu Mar 20 1997 17:319
Walt,

Yes, upgrade to V3.1 and then to V3.1-8 (V3.1-7 isn't online anymore).

Also look at the 3571 string.

Peter
