3308.0. "FDDI configuration sample" by LUCCIO::DEQUAL () Mon Feb 26 1996 11:35

Hi,

because the FDDI configuration rules do support A-S and B-S connections (as in
a wrapped ring), it should be possible to use a PEswitch 900 TX to connect
two servers (SAS) at 100 Mb/s to up to 64 clients at 10 Mb/s, using a DEChub
ONE-MX with UTP MOD PMD (see below).

Can somebody confirm such issue please?
Thanks in advance
Zeno

    Yes, it will work. But I believe you should include the servers in the
    address count, so that would be 62 stations on ethernet.

    Re .1,

    doesn't the 64 address limit apply across the 6 Ethernet ports only,
    and is unlimited across the FDDI ports

The PEswitch900TX supports up to 8000 network addresses:
64 Ethernet and 7936 FDDI.

    It's more like "D'OH" (imagine the sound of one hand clapping forehead).
