4404.0. "Incompatibility MCM V5.0 and V6.0 and firmware on mudules" by IJSAPL::VISSER_A () Tue May 13 1997 08:28

Hello,

I had problems connecting a DECconcentrator900MX (slot 4) to a backplane
channel using MCM v6.0 (CEARvisn V1.1a). Using MCM V5.0 there was no problem.
On the mudule in slot 8 there was a port in the laninterconnect but both ports
(a&b) are to the front pannel defined. In V5.0 this was ok.
I reread the release notes but I found nothing about firmware incompatbility.
Yes I think I have to upgrade but is this known? If so please give a note in
the releasenotes.

This is the configuration:

MAM V4.1.1
Slot Module FW Config
1 DC900MX V3.1.1 Ring in
2 DC900MX V3.1.1 a&b in backplane
3 DC900MX V3.2.3 Ring out
4 DC900MX V3.1.1 a&b in backplane (Unable to connect using V6.0 -add faild)
5 empty
6 empty
7 empty
8 DC900MX V3.1.1 different ring a&b to front

You *must* be running MAM V5.1 (or V5.0) if you are running MCM V6.0.
