389.0. "SDLC Transport questions" by NMOSPD::SYSTEM () Thu Sep 16 1993 09:21

Hi. (yes i know to much questions....please help if you can)

Four questions about integration of one multipoint connection,
in SNA network, with "SDLC Transport function" and "local termination
feature", using an IP network and DECBrouter 90.

Following the old configuration, the new suggested configuration
	and related questions.

			THE QUESTIONS
			*************

1- Can I use the DECBrouter-90 like a DCE or is it a DTE device
therefore I must to use Modem Eliminator to connecting IBM
devices (DTE)? (In the CISCO AGS+ interfaces I can buy one DCE
aplique which change one DTE interface into DCE)
2- Is it supported NRZI and NRZ for SDLC Transport Function?
(usualy, in italian SNA implementation, we use NRZI)
3- What is the minimum supported speed for the syncronous
interface in the DECBrouter-90? (I suppose maximum speed
is up to T1/E1 and up to 64 Kbaud for DECBrouter-90/T2 when the
ports running simultaneously and if i use only one port can be
	   up to T1/E1)
4- How many, reasonably, secondary station can i configure in the
DECBrouter-90 "Node A" S0 interface? (because i think to setup one
	   "STUN ROUTE ADDRESS address-number TCP ip-address LOCAL-ACK"
for each secondary SDLC remote station)

	Many thanks.

	Andrea Mattioli

P.S. DO YOU THINK IT WORKS?
