4229.0. "Twisted Pair Full Duplex" by CGOWGS::GIBB (John Gibb Canadian Multi Vendor Support) Thu Feb 20 1997 13:49

Howdy,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if any of our Twisted Pair repeater Hub Products support
Full Duplex mode?.

Any inputs would be appreciated..

Thanks

I think that's impossible, isn't it? All the ports on a repeater
(or repeater group) are in the same collision domain.

The reason switch ports can do full duplex is that each port has
its own collision domain, and the packet is stored until it can
be transmitted.

The 600 series switches can do full duplex, and I'll bet the
VNswitches can as well. The ethernet ports on the 900EE, 900EF
can't.

    Thanks Mike..

It gets confusing when a DE500 is installed on a alpha and now you have
various console settings for ew* modes of operation...

    Thanks again..

The VNswitch's can operate in full duplex mode.
