3824.0. "Burning DC-DC voltage converters" by KAOFS::R_RYAN (I used to be a coyote but Im ok nowoooo!) Thu Aug 29 1996 15:55

Aproximately a year ago I ran into a problem with DEChub modules where
a DC-DC voltage converter was burning up. At that time I was told that
there was a component problem and that a new supplier was going to be
    found etc...
The module I had a problem with was a DEWGF however the bad DC-DC
voltage converter was to be found in many more products. At the time, I
was informed that a new revision of module would be out by Nov., and a
new revision module would be forthcoming.
Does anyone know about this issue with the DC-DC voltage converters? Is
there a particular revision of the module (DEWGF in this case) that we
can get that does not have the faulty DC-DC voltage converter?

I've done thermal testing on the new DC-DC converter,
and know that it now meets the thermal standards. I
don't know how far it is in the implmentation process,
nor how to be sure of ordering the new & improved version.

Madjid Far provided me with a list of all affected DEChub modules and
the revisions. Thanks for the reply.
