3733.0. "Router Configurator - IP stack compatibility?" by CSC32::J_SHUMWAY () Fri Jul 19 1996 18:52

A customer and I are having similar problems... When I access the network via
W95 RAS I can load a Routeabout sucessfully. If I use Trumpet Winsock the ping
portion of the load fails. If I exit the configurator and use a ping utility
the router responds to the ping and I can also telnet to the router. Customer
is using TGV Multinet. He also gets a failure with the load, ping fails. If
he exits the configurator he can ping and telnet the router. This appears to
be IP stack related. Anyone seen this behaviour?

thanks,

joe

    I believe that there is an .INI file somewhere that you need to change
    to enable trumpet management (i.e. SNMP) by default it is NOT enabled.

    Needed to edit the file and add in the protocol types of SNMP etc...

    I went thru this when we had trumpet and I needed to install
    MANAGEworks. I think that I found the answer in the MANAGEWORKS notes
    looking for TRUMPET etc...

    hope that helps,
