3486.0. "Decbridge90 and SNMP management in DH900" by BELFST::BELCOO::HOUSTON (Peace at last) Tue Apr 23 1996 15:24

Hello.

I have recently purchased a DECbridge90 and have installed it into
my
DEC900 in slot 3.

When I open Hubwatch I can see the bridge but if I try to manage it
Hubwatch gives an error saying that the MAC address in slot 3 does
not have
an SNMP agent assigned to it.

Is the DECbridge90 manageable using SNMP in a DEC900 ?

Regards,

Colin

    You need a DECagent 90 somewhere on your lan to manage a DECbridge 90.
    The DECbridge 90 is not an SNMP device; the DECagent 90 translates
    between RBMS and SNMP.

    Then, create a community for the DECbridge 90 in the DECagent 90,
    and add a record in the HUBwatch agents file for the DB90.

    For complete details, see the HUBwatch installation manual.
