3461.0. "problem with new FDDI MIC PMD" by TOOPCS::SELLES () Tue Apr 16 1996 16:39

customers are receiving new MIC PMDs connectors for decconcentrator900MX
which are to be configured for a,b,s or m ( previously ,
they were all configured for m use , which allowed any kind of mic
cable )
there is a free place in front of the connector for a "small piece"
identifying the connector type to be plugged ;
but with a preconfigured 900mx , they receive only one small pack
including 1 a , 1 b , 1 s , and 1 m  "small pieces" !!

there should be at least 1 "small pack" for each connector as they
end up with MIC PMD connectors into which they can plug a mic cable
with inversion of the fibers , which is not possible is the connector
is well defined with the "small piece"

is it possible to order those "small pack" separately or is it a logistic
problem and they should have received one "small pack" per connector ?

thanks for your answers

PS : please excuse my "pidgin" english but i just dont have my Oxford dictionary

    This sounds just like note #3451 !

    Unfortunately, I don't know who would know the answer. You could start
    with the FDDI product manager, Karl Pieper.

3461.2I'll start looking at the problemNPSS::KIRKWed Apr 17 1996 12:3710
    I will look into this problem. It is clear that the customer should be
    receiving 6 bags of keys. These items are still on the KPL for the
    modPMD 54 class part, so something is not working correctly.

    For the new mod PMDs, the bag of keys part number is 22-12416-01.
    I am not sure that these are orderable, however. Please let me know
    whether you can order them, or if you need vendor information.
