3444.0. "What Apps use UDP?" by SCASS1::DAVIES (Mark, NPB Sales, Dallas,TX) Thu Apr 11 1996 20:05

I need some help concerning the UDP protocol.

What common applications use UDP, as opposed to TCP?

      SNMP?

      FTP?

      TELNET?

      NFS?

      etc,

    Thanks,

    Mark

you configure DNS to run over TCP or UDP.

Look at the services files on and Unix system. It will tell you what uses udp,
tcp or both. It can be found at:

/etc/services
