3426.0. "environmental variables not launching from apps" by SCASS1::GALVIN (The Energizer Bunny's Trainer...) Thu Apr 04 1996 22:41
HUBWATCH Environmental Variables...
When running HUBWATCH V4.1 from d-Unix V3.2C, we can run it
interactively, like such:
# hubwatch -x 166.34.121.244
! all environmental variables get set, ie: HUBWATCH_LIBRARY, etc.
When we launch it from the Motif Session Manager, using this as an
application definition:
hubwatch
/usr/kits/HUBwatch/bin/hubwatch -x 166.34.121.244
We get error messages in the HUBWATCH Window Manager complaining about
the HUBWATCH variables not being set...
We have tried putting the HUBWATCH_LIBRARY, HUBWATCH_LOAD,
HUBWATCH_HUBLOADER variables in .profile and/or .login with no
success.
Our entries are like this:
HUBWATCH_LIBRARY=/usr/kits/HUBwatch/bin
HUBWATCH_LOAD=/usr/kits/HUBwatch/bin
HUBWATCH_LOADER=/usr/kits/HUBwatch/bin
EXPORT HUBWATCH_LIBRARY HUBWATCH_LOAD HUBWATCH_LOADER
Also, when get tried to add the RMON Probes, and a DECserver 900TM,
we keep getting:
(E) snmp: request has no agent defined (slot=2)
(E) invalid request agent
(E) SNMP: request has no agent defined (slot=6)
(E) invalid request agent
Hubwatch comes up, but we're unable to access either the probe or the
terminal server; can't PING to the probe either...
help!
/Mic
