Hello,
On a DETMR (repeater 90-T) one can use
when standalone: 8 UTP ports + 1 thinwire
when in hub90/900: 8 UTP ports + backplane to thin/thick
thin tab on DETMR can not be used. (only due to physical
constraint??)
My customer has his DETMR sitting in a DEChub 1, and uses
8 UTP ports + thinwire on DETMR + AUI Through dechub1 backplane.
To my surprise this works fine. When I apply analogy of DEChub90/900, this is
not a supported config.
Can one comment on this please.

Funny, from all we have been hearing, the AUI port on the multistack
unit (DETAX) ONLY works with the 16 port repeater (DETML)!
The DETMR, when inside a HUB90/900, gets its thinwire port re-directed
to the backplane, hence becomes un-available, even if you could get at
it physically, like when there is no module next to it.

Hello, The "miracle" is solved. 2 different problems/configs were mixed up. 1) Working config The DETAX + 16 port repeater : AUI on DETAX + thin + UTP connected. Works fine and this is expected to work fine 2) Bad config DETAX + 8 port repeater.: repeater does not init correctly. Expected behaviour. not supported. cheers Erwin Kneuts | |||||
