3407.0. "Confused of ?????" by CHEFS::HARVEY (Baldly going into the unknown...) Wed Mar 27 1996 15:49

Just when I thought I was getting my head around things......

Can someone explain how far HUBwatch will be delevoped before it is subsumed
by ClearVISN "somethingorother" ? ie. which O/S' will be supported to what
   version levels etc. ?

HUBwatch continues ad nauseum, but under new names:

	clearVISN MultiChassis Manager
	(DEChub 90, DEChub 900, stacks, GIGAswitch/FDDI, GIGAswitch/ATM, etc)

and its subset:
	clearVISN Stack Manager
	(stacks, DEChub 90?)

This is effective as of the next release. (V5)

Sorry, didn't notice the 2nd half of the question earlier...

Windows/NT on Intel will always be delivered first. Windows 95 at the same
time or soon thereafter. Windows 3.1 is supported only for the short-term.

Delivery on many Unix platforms and on Alpha/NT about a quarter later.
Current Unix platforms include Digital UNIX, HP-UX, and AIX.

There is a possibility that not all clearVISN products will be available
for Unix. However, MultiChassis Manager, Recovery Manager, Flash Loader,
and another product, which I forget right now, will be on Unix. But, the
list of applications to be ported to Unix seems to be growing rapidly.

Bear in mind, that I'm speaking only from an engineering perspective
here (as always). For real product information, you're always safer to
check with Jack NAC::Forrest, the clearVISN product manager.
