3346.0. "DECrepeater 900FP ver 2.0 question" by GIDDAY::STANISLAUS () Mon Mar 11 1996 10:28

    	I have informed by one of my colleagues not to upgrade DECrepeater
    900FP to version 2.0 from version 1.1. The reason I was given is that
    ver 2.0 has some bugs whereby the network will have flaky problems.

    	I have been asked to wait for 2.0.1. Is the above statement true,
    rumour or true under certain configurations and not so true under
    certain other configurations. I wish to know for sure before I go and
    upgrade all the DECrepeater 900FPs to ver 2.0.

    True in configurations where you want to disconnect the 900FP's
    ThinWire port.

    This is discussed in note #2989, among other places.

3346.2Portswitch 900FP FW V2.2 available ????ZUR01::ACKERMANNThu Mar 21 1996 15:1032

    Hello all together,

    It is really interesting, i think there must be already a
    Bug-Fix for the DEFMM (Portswitch 900FP), because the Release
    Notes for the Version V2.2 March 1996 are already available by Tima
    Tools! The Release Notes says:

    Previously under certain conditions, when You useed the Hubwatch Inter
    connect window to disconnect the Thinwire port, either the front panel
    Network OK LED (that indicates the status of the backplane Thin Wire
    port) or Hubwatch may have indicated that the Thin Wire port was
    disconnected. This might not actually have been the case. The Thin Wire
    port might have remained connected, and traffic might still have gone
    through the modules backplane Thin Wire port.
    This condition has been corrected.

    In the Release Notes is also explained, how to get with anonymous ftp
    the firmware Images. But in these Directory ist still the old Image!

    So, please can somebody from the Engineering give the POINTER, where
    this Image can be found?

    I think these would help us, and our Customers,
    Thanks a lot

3346.3900FP Fix confirmation ZUR01::ACKERMANNWed Mar 27 1996 11:4913

    Hello all,

    I hope, the Pointer in Note 3306.2: NPSS::PUBLIC$DSK:[INTERCHANGE]
    					DEFMM_V2_2B000.BIN;1
    for the Portswitch 900FP solves these Problems, as i asked in 3346.2
    I hope, that the Release Notes from Tima Tools for Version V2.2 also
    belong to these Images.
    Thanks in advance for the confirmation of my Question,

    Daniel
