3343.0. "Probewatch and IP Node Names" by SCASS1::DAVIES (Mark, NPB Sales, Dallas,TX) Sat Mar 09 1996 12:51

My customer is looking at PROBEwatch. He wants to monitor ethernet
    segments. His question:

    1. Does PROBEwatch and our h/w probes show IP staions by MAC address
only, or do they also display IP address and/or IP node name?

    Thanks,

    Mark

You can configure whether the MAC address or network address is displayed
in the install screen of the PROBEwatch Domain Manager.

But you should use V2.6 Firmware of Packetprobe90 to get IP adresses.

Is there any plan to add support for Node Names by having PROBEwatch go out
and access a BIND server and retrieve them?

Thanks,

Mark
