3229.0. "New help on DC900 trap." by HGOVC::SIUKEUNGLEE () Fri Feb 02 1996 14:19

    Hi,

    I have copy all the new MIBS file from gateway.dec.com. But I still
    get some "trap not found" on my Netview event. The trap message are
    come from DECconcentrator 900. It seem to be the latest MIBS doesn't
    include all the trap report from DC900.

    Could someone can give me the new MIBS include all the trap
    information ?

    OR

    The detail list of all private mibs/trap information about DC900.

    Thank a lot!

    David Lee.

This is true. The DECconcentrator900's "port trap" does not have a
corresponding "TRAP-TYPE" definition in the DEC ELAN Vendor MIB.

See note 3203.1. Sorry, I forgot that port traps weren't in the MIB.

I won't even try to explain why the port trap isn't defined in the MIB -
except to say it's an argument I lost. If you think it should go in the
MIB, please contact the product manager.

The TRAP-TYPE definition went into the products release notes at one
point. Recreating the shell of it from memory:

  decConcentratorPortTrap TRAP-TYPE
      ENTERPRISE { elanext } -- This might be wrong!
      VARIABLES   { fddimibPORTConnectState }
      DESCRIPTION
          ""
      ::= 1

Basically the trap contains the value of the FDDI MIB object
fddimibPORTConnectState.

If I find more info, I'll send it. If you need the information right
away, complain to the product manager.
