| My guess is that some users/customers would only entertain UNIX-based kit. I
guess it also depends on what skills they have in-house. Even tho' NT is so
"intuitive" and easy, it's still another platform to learn.
My customers are UK Govt. who have very much beaten the Open Systems (read
UNIX) drum over the last several years. Even so, they are looking to NT in
many areas with some notable success from us in getting the Ministry of
Defence Procurement Executive (MoD PE) to by wall-to-wall NT based on
AlphaServers and (Unisys) PCs.
Another angle is whether NT has the overall performance necesary to
undertake management of big networked systems. UNIX will the 64-bitness
scores here doesn't it ?!

| Guys,
re.0:
Digital is selling Polycenter Netview on NT wich is a port from the
UNIX version. So we already HAVE a native Windows NT Management
platform. Stonybook Software is selling an add on to our Netview NT to
manage your (Multivendor) routers. This software is called Router
Manager/Autobahn(<-the german word for highway ;-))
The notesfile is noted::netview-nt
A Demo-CD with Netview NT, Intel and AXP(beta) is also available via
VTX LOS.
