| when the forwarding state LED is on that means it's NOT forwarding
messages. this happens for the first 30 seconds after selftest and
then it should go off, so it should go off 1 minute after powerup,
meaning it's then forwarding.

| My question is what happens after the 30 seconds.......will the LED go
"off" even if there is no traffic to forward? ....e.g. I power-up the
module in an empty backplane with a terminator on the bridge backbone
port......

there is also a terminator or connection on the work group port.

| make sure noone disabled one of the 2 ports, in which case it will
never enter forwarding mode. SHOW PORT 1 and SHOW PORT 2
