3085.0. "console problem" by DEKVC::YOUNGCHANKIM () Tue Dec 19 1995 07:01

    I was read note file 458.x already.

    I have just gotten a Packetprobe 90. I plugged in the power and
    connected it to the local thinwire ethernet. The DC OK light is on.
    (I have been tried HUB900 also)
    Next I plugged in a DB9 connector (H8571-J) and connected a VT382.  I
    depressed RETURN twice (as stated in the Users Guide) and got nothing.
    I tried 300/1200/2400/9600.
    In HUBwatch,this module displayed and twice click,error message is
    can not find NSMAN.EXE

    LED status:
    #1 on
    #2 off
    #3 off (in DH900, thinwire or UTP)
    #4 off

    Any ideas as to what is happening?

3085.1Is PROBEwatch installed???FOUNDR::SKABOExpect Nothing U never disappointedTue Dec 19 1995 12:2915
    Hello Yckim,

    >>> In HUBwatch,this module displayed and twice click,error message is
    >>> can not find NSMAN.EXE

    Do you have PROBEwatch installed? You do not say what operating system,
    but for DOS, HUBwatch is looking for NSMAN.EXE:

    		c:\probw\bin\nsman.exe

    	And also make sure in AUTOEXEC.BAT you have:

    		set NSHOME=C:\PROBEW

    PC has some mistake directory for probewatch.
    So,re-config and twice click in hubwatch,it's OK.
    But console problem is still remain.
    I can't setup ip address for probwatch because console is not work.
    Is this module out of order ?

3085.3Check your connection....FOUNDR::SKABOExpect Nothing U never disappointedWed Dec 20 1995 11:298
    Hello Yckim,

    Make sure that you have the console connected to the console port of
    the probe. (It is the bottom connector, as the other connector (the one
    by the LEDs) is a UTP connection). Use a std. DEC office connector cable
    to a video terminal at 9600.
