2920.0. "DSV900GM cabling?" by CGOOA::BARNABE (Guy Barnabe - Digital Canada) Fri Oct 27 1995 19:41

On the DSV900gm, customer wants to know if he can put RJ45 calbing on
top 2 connectors and MODEM control db25 on bottom?

He is assuming that this will give him 16 ports of RJ and 8 modem control
on bottom...

I assume you mean a DECserver 900GM, right? If yes, then yes, your
customer can do this. You can mix and match any combination of full
and partial modem control (DB25, RJ45 if I use your terminology) across
the four ports on a DS900GM. This means you can have 32 partial:0 full,
    24 partial:4 full, 16 partial:8 full, 8 partial:12 full, 0 partial:16
    full.

I saw many requests for online Docs pointing to the DSRVY manuals,
but I cannot find any reference to where they live. They are not in
NAC::NIPG:[HUB.MANUALS] yet. I would like to have these servers on a
project that I am working on. My contractor will be preparing the
cables before the DECservers (and their manuals) appear on site.

Please post an accurate pointer to the cable pinouts, so that I can
instruct my sub on how to create the 50-pin to xx cables. I assume that
the pinouts will change based on software settings of the ports,
(whether I want full or partial modem control on each port). I would
love a pointer to an AutoCAD, or DXF file with this data. Postscript
is not usable in my "home office".

    Thanks,
