2917.0. "dont agree with this" by VNABRW::SCHMOELZER_R () Fri Oct 27 1995 17:05

    John,

Do ya think our customers agree with this?

Polycenter Netview on NT is a strategic product in managing Multivendor
networks, so why should a third party application support PNV NT, if
    Digitals OWN software(like HUBwatch) doesnt.

    regards
    robert

2917.2The key to this message is "tell the product manager"SLINK::HOODMy God, what have I done to my spleen?Fri Oct 27 1995 17:2322
HUBwatch is not on NT at the current moment because not enough people asked
our product manager for it last year. On the other hand, a lot of people
asked our product manager for HUBwatch on Sun and HP.

In the next version, HUBwatch will be on NT, because more people have started
asking our product manager for it. It will be on intel-based NT.

If you want alpha-based, NT, then you should ask our product manager for it.
And you should ask our product manager for it NOW.

Our product manager is Jack NAC::Forrest.

In summary, we build HUBwatch (and the other clearVISN products) not for what
Digital is trying to sell elsewhere, but for what people tell our product
manager will sell DEChubs.

The key here is to tell the product manager "If I had HUBwatch on a Macintosh,
then we could sell sixty jillion dollars worth of hubs." Or, you could tell
the product manager "If I had HUBwatch on Alpha NT, we could sell sixty jillion
dollars worth of hubs." Or....
