2892.0. "dhcp relay and defba-fa/da" by MIMS::WELLONS_T () Fri Oct 20 1995 18:38

    Can the decswitch 900 support dhcp relay as per rfc 1542 ? Does it need
    to ? What is dhcp relay and how does it relate to the decswitch 900.

    Thanks for any info.

    	"DHCP relay" deals with a router's ability to forward Dynamic Host
    Configuration Protocol requests (which use UDP BOOTP packets) from one
    interface to another; in the case of the DECswitch900, when it's acting
    as a bridge, it will (by default) forward all broadcasts. I don't know if
    the DS900 running the routing code can deal with this or not; you should
    probably ask in IROCZ::COMMON_BROUTERS (don't bother hitting KP7, I can
    never remember how to do that). FWIW, the DECbrouter (running cisco
    code) adheres to rfc1542, and is configurable to forward DHCP requests.
