2802.0. "Missing functions and wishes...." by STKHLM::WEBJORN () Wed Sep 27 1995 09:55
Why are there gauges and dials on the REPEATERS and none on the SWITCH
(BRIDGE)?? For the first level of capacity planning, configuration and
faultfinding, the obvious place to start is at the SWITCH.
Also, in many cases people use the front connectors, and now there is
no way to see the actual traffic except to get the counters, (in text)
write down on paper, and then do the arithmetic.
Why is there in general no polling function for the gauges and dials,
so that some kind of live behaviour can be had?
Last...
On the wishlist, a simple traffic graphing function, or at least some
way to save numbers into a file for subsequent inclusion into your
favorite spreadsheet to produce graphs .
FDDI ringmap.
We have to use the customers HP server based hack to find out how
things are REALLY connected.
Now that the look_and_feel is almost done, some functionality please...
