| I inquired about these, and got the following replies.
> Does this means that we could offer a standalone FDDI Rmon Probe ?
No, there will not, standalone only for Ethernet.
> Does it means that this probe would be compatible with Probewatch ?

You can now resell Frontier's FDDI and WAN probes, as well as their
NETscout Manager software (PROBEwatch equivalent) on Sun, HP, and IBM
UNIX.
Here are the Frontier model numbers which we can sell. The prices below
represent the Digital selling price to Customers. These represent a 5%
markup on Frontier's list prices. Frontier sells additional options,
primarily with additional memory, or with Token Ring instead of Ethernet
cards. The DT numbers are the Digital order numbers.

Product descriptions:
WAN Probe - 6050/8 is Frontier's probe with a WAN interface and an
Ethernet AUI interface. It will be shipped with a V.35 interface
on the WAN side. The WAN interface connects between the router
and the DSU/CSU.
FDDI probe - 7101/ET/8 is Frontier's probe with a UTP FDDI port and an
Ethernet AUI interface. They use Digital's PCI FDDI NIC as the
FDDI interface. The PROBEwatch-probe traffic must travel over
the Ethernet or the SLIP port; you cannot manage in-band on
the FDDI; you can only monitor on the FDDI port. The 8 in
Frontier's part number signifies 8 Meg of RAM.
FDDI probe - 7102/ET/8 is Frontier's probe with a SAS Multimode fiber
interface; everything else is the same as the 7101/ET/8.
Functionality is the same as for the DECpacketprobe and PROBEwatch,
except the Statistics reported are appropriate to the interface type.
