2498.0. "TRAP in LCD Display" by PRIVAT::OTTO (...this is the last message You will ever hear...) Tue Jul 11 1995 09:33

Hello,

a customer called about a problem with a HUB 900 saying that the HUB
is displaying a message in the LCD Display

                        Trap @ 1535 in ncsh.c

after that call I had a look at our HUB900 Errorlog and found this:

Otto,

I'll try :-)

This trap does not appear to be related to your customers (though they are in
the same file). This is due to a memory leak, and is fixed in v4.0.2.

> Catch VO=07C SR=2700 PC=456D34

This is a known problem that is being worked. It rarely occurs, but when
it does, it is only when the hub is booting. This *should* be fixed in the
next MAM firmware release.

Without being able to reproduce this problem I cannot give you an
explanation. The code involving this trap has changed in later versions
of the mam and may be fixed.

My advice is to upgrade to the latest versions of firmware.

Hope this helps,
Chip

Chip,
Thanks for Your Explanation. Now I known a bit better
how to treat those messages and what to do and check for when one comes across.
I have updated our HUB900 with V4.0.0 and will watch what happens
with the errorlog

Thanks
