2154.0. "upgrade concentrator 900 ?" by ATYISA::JACQUOT () Thu Mar 30 1995 10:52

Maybe somethings wrong in my mind. But how can we do an upgrade of a
DECconcentrator 900. If there's just one DECcontrator900 in dechub900 and a
DR900.It's not possible to connect the DC900 to an ethernet channel in the
backplane (It is ?). And the system for upgrade DC900 is connect to the dr900
(there is no possible ethernet communication between DR900 and DC900 )

Use the hub manager's setup port menu selection "Downline Upgrade" to perform a
hub-assisted load to that device. The load will take place over the Ethernet
through the IP services module and into the hub manager, then from the hub
manager over the backplane management channel to the device. No need to have an
FDDI connection to the concentrator.

You need to setup an in-band IP address for the hub with the DR900 as the IP
services module or an out-of-band IP address, then make sure you have a
connection to the load host.

    thanks for your answer , in fact I ask question cause I upgrade with a
    portable PC and upgrade works fine with DEChub900, DECbridge900MX, some
    of DR900 and not at all with DC900. After your answer I try with an
    another PC and now all is ok, so my PC has probably some trouble with
    its ethernet interface
