Check 2075, especially 2075.5. I was hoping someone would make
additional comments but not yet so far. The first release, so I've
been told, is strictly software switching/routing so unless something
happens it will be 20Kpps. The next release will be a recode and
switching will use the hardware assist and will be around 40Kpps.

    However, I can be corrected.

More Information required!!!

Our customer plans to change his FDDI Backbone to a multiple (4)
GIGAswitch backbone, distributed over two different sites. Direct to the
GIGAswitch he connect his VMS(LAVC) or UNIX Server-Systems. The clients and
usersystems are connected via Ethernet to DEChub 900 and from DEChub 900 to the
GIGAswitch's via DECswitch 900EF. Now the customer requires to change from a
total transparent bridged network to route IP traffic and bridge all other
protocols.

The problem/Question ?
I doesn't get any information about the performance/latency for the
DECswitch 900EF routing software comming this summer.
Will the "DECrouter 900" be able to handle this traffic like the DECswitch 900 ?
Is the "DECrouter 900" able to be a Backbonerouter ?
