2034.0. "A handy HUBwatch tip" by CGOOA::PITULEY (Ain't technology wonderful?) Tue Feb 21 1995 15:38

    While installing HUBwatch on a customer's site, the customer was
    complaining about having to type in an agent name or IP address every
    time he launched HUBwatch. In a moment of inspiration, I remembered
    that Windows has the ability to run a program with options that are
    added on the command line that launches the application. We tried it
    and it worked really well.

    What we did:

    With HUBwatch closed, we highlighted the HUBwatch icon and under the
    "FILE" heading selected "PROPERTIES". In the window that pops up there
    is an entry called "COMMAND LINE" that is the path and name of the
    HUBwatch executable. At the end of that statement we added a space and
    then the name of one of the agents on the network. Now every time
    HUBwatch is launched it comes up with the physical view of the hub that
    is managed by the agent we named. Very handy and convenient.

    This may be old news to some but it is not something I had heard of
    being done before.

2034.3Other Tips for HUBWatchKETJE::VANDENBERG_RFri Feb 24 1995 06:3119
	Hi,
	This one can also help:

	1.You can automate the configuration of hubs and maintain the
	configuration using the 'Recorder' function in the MS-DOS accessories
	Program Item this info can be saved as separate Macros per hub.

	2. I you want to have a look of the HUBWATCH help in the plane, your
	bed or bath room etc..
	It is possible to access the online help without to be online with a hub
		by using the Online Help of any MS-DOS application, then from:
		File
			Open
				->the HubWatch directory
				howto.hlp
	And off you go.

ditto for the motif versions of HUBwatch (OSF/1 and OpenVMS). You can read
the help without HUBwatch:

	OpenVMS:	SYS$HELP:HUBWATCH.DECW$BOOK
	OSF/1:		/usr/lib/X11/help/hubwatch.decw_book

You can read the file with bookreader.
