1988.0. "Problems launching HUBwatch 3.1 from Netview" by FRAIS::ORCHIS::MAASS (Information, that's all I need...) Thu Feb 09 1995 08:43

Hi all,

I recently installed HUBwatch V3.1 (from the distribution) on top of Netview
V3.1a on OSF/1. I still have the launch problem mentioned in note 1647.*. Net-
view does a

sh -c exec hubwatch -a {$OVwSelection 1}

when launching HUBwatch, and HUBwatch complains
about HUBWATCHLIBRARY not being set (which is impossible in this context, at
least as of my knowledge).

Could you please enlighten me? This installation was done for a big customer pro-
ject, and the customer isn't very happy about the situation (to put it mildly).

Thanks in advance

    Your problem has nothing to do with NetView. Your problem is as
    reported - you simply did not set the environment variable
    HUBWATCH_LIBRARY before you tried to run HUBwatch. (Note the "_".)
    Please read section 6.1 of the release notes concerning this. They'll be
    under the /usr/kits/HUBwatch directory. There is also some notes
    regarding launching HUBwatch from Netview as well if you haven't
    seen them.

Hi John,

thanks for your quick reply. I did set HUBWATCH_LIBRARY in both /etc/csh.login
and /etc/profile (for all three options). I also tried to log out and log in
again to restart the session manager. Did I miss something?

Kind regards and thanks again
