1929.0. "PROBEwatch : Protocol per node info?" by MEO78A::BARNHOORN (Barney to his friends) Wed Jan 25 1995 00:48

Can Probewatch give my the same information that LTM was able to
provide of, what protocols (and amount per protocol) a particular node
is putting on the network ?

    Thanks Mark

No, it doesn't tell you which protocols - you can take a guess at which
protocols may be present, then enable those domains. Everything else
    will be counted as OTHER.

If you go into a customer site and don't have a clue as to which
protocols may be present, then start with a data capture - a quick
peruse of the protocol decode summary screen should give you a good
picture of the most common protocols present.

For the domains (protocols) you are specifically monitoring,
PROBEwatch gives you much more information than did LTM.
