1911.0. "Two FDDIs on DECswitch 900EF in Hubwitch" by PTOJJD::DANZAK () Thu Jan 19 1995 16:26

    You can double the FDDI ports on the DECswitch 900EF (and I think PE)
    by doing the following:

     - Go to LAN interconnect
     - CREATE an FDDI lan
     - Insert the module in the switch
     - Double click on it
     - Go to the port configure (innie/outie)
     - Change the FDDI port to go to the backplane and OK
     - Drag the new FDDI port down the the FDDI lan that you created on the
       LAN interconnect
     - Go to the port configure again
     - Configure port 3 for backplane access
     - ZAP...on OpenVMS hubwatch dies (see attached)
     - On Windows, you get ANOTHER fddi port on the switch.

    Pretty nifty - hardware modification without factory recall!

    You need to power off/out the module to get rid of it...uugh!

    	Of course you can do that with Hubwitch, it will let you conjure up
    all kinds of weird connections :^)
