| .1 is not quite correct. The DECrepeater 90TS can have an AUI port
but only when it is operating in a stand-alone configuration. A
special rear cover, which contains an AUI connector, can be snapped
onto the back of a DECrepeater 90TS.
In this configuration, the DECrepeater 90TS can use EITHER the rear AUI
port or the side/top Thinwire port...BUT NOT BOTH. The reason for this
is that there is only one internal repeater port allocated for these 2
physical connectors.
Deciding which of these 2 connectors is active is accomplished in one
of 2 ways. See the DECrepeater 90TS installation guide for complete
details.:
- autoselection: upon power-up the repeater will hunt to see which
of the connectors has a valid connection.
- port lockdown: using HUBwatch (or any other SNMP tool) the user
can manually select which connector is active.
FOR THE RECORD, NO OTHER DECHUB 90 FORM-FACTOR MODULE CAN USE THIS
SPECIAL REAR COVER TO AQUIRE AUI CONNECTIVITY.
