1415.0. "software version for DECbridge 90?" by HGOCS::KENNETH () Tue Sep 13 1994 08:17

Hi there,

From the show bridge print out of a DECbridge 90, on the top, you can see
there are two versions list out.

One is DEWGB V2.1 (on some of our bridge it is V1.14) and the second
line is FPROM V3.1. I guess the FPROM V3.1 is the firmware version and
the DEWGB V2.1 is the software version. is that right?

If yes, how can I upgrade my software version from V1.14 to V2.1?
I know that the software microcode version (firmware) can be downline
loaded. Is there anyone knows where can I get the software and how
can I load it?

Thanks for your help in advanced,

Kenneth Leung

Kenneth,

The 2.1 /1.14 version number you are referring to is the ROM based portion of
the code. It CANNOT be changed since the version of the ROM must be paired with
the revision of the HARDWARE. If you feel you need the latest version of the
ROM, the only way to get it AND HAVE IT WORK is to swap out the entire bridge.

    Hi,

I have order new Bridges from our Logistic channel, but the bridges's
version is still 1.14, not 2.1.

Can you tell me what is the hardware revision level for the latest
    bridge?

Thanks for your help in advance.
