1394.0. "DEChub 900 config problem?" by HGOVC::SIUKEUNGLEE () Thu Sep 08 1994 17:00

    Hello,

Our customer have a DEChub900 and DECbridge 900MX connected to slot 7.
Also it have some DEC900TM on the other slots. I alredy set the IP
address on both modules. I can ping the DEC900MX, but I can Ping the
others DEC900TM. I think it may be the DEChub 900 blackplane config
problem. Also I try to use HUBwatch 3.0, it show me only the DEC900MX.

    Q1:

How can I uses HUBwatch 3.0 to config my DEChub900 blackplane ?

    Q2:

Where are the pointer of the latest version of DEC900MX and DEC900TM ?

    Q3:

Where are the pointer of HUBwatch 3.0 for VMS manual ?

    Thank!

When you say DEC900TM, do you mean DECrepeater 900TM or DECserver 900TM?

If it's the DECserver 900TM, you must set the community in the server
to PUBLIC and enable SNMP.

If it's the DECrepeaters, it is plug-and-play.

He manuals for HUBwatch for OpenVMS VAX V3.0 are AA-Q0FXB-TE (Installation
& Config) and AA-PW4BC-TE (Use). Elsewhere in this notesfile is a pointer
to the postscript files.

For general use info, use HELP from HUBwatch. It is very detailed and will
answer just about all your questions. Try it. It works.

Please describe the configuration in more detail:

    - What IP addresses have you assigned to what devices?

    - What LANs have you used on the backplane and what modules
      are connected to them?

    - Where is your NMS connected?
